The aim of Kingfisher Art Productions is to make films on art and mythology which explore the role of symbolism in expressing meaning.
Many of our greatest paintings and most enduring myths have at their core a symbol, or a pattern of symbolism, in which the deeper meaning of the art resides.
We believe that it is often difficult to address symbolism without either abstracting it from its context, and so falsifying it, or overlooking it and so taking the art or myth too literally, assuming it has little of importance to say to us.
We hope to show that our understanding of our subjects will be enhanced through a closely textured approach to the symbolism as the essence of the work.
